L107 – We’re Local!!!
Hello Lanarkshire! Grant Thomson here, the one…the only…breakfast presenter on Lanarkshire’s L107 radio station. No I haven’t resolved to be more modest this year.
What are your New Years Resolutions? Stuck for ideas? Well, why don’t you make the decision to tune into Lanarkshire’s L107 radio station, if you haven’t already? And here’s why:
1. Great music, from the present day to the 60’s. Yes, you’ll hear everything from Rihanna to Rod Stewart, and Kylie to The Kinks. And if you fancy dedicating a song to the one you love (shameless song pun, apologies), then why not e-mail your in your requests to studio@l107.com, or call us on 01698 337107. You can also let us know what you’re up to. Perhaps abseiling in Airdrie, moon walking in Motherwell, or playing Bingo in Bothwell.
2. We’re local, literally (just off the Bothwell Road in Hamilton) and in terms of the content we provide. Local news, local sport, local traffic and travel, local weather, local events. I know I just used the word local several times there, but I’m making an important point here. So if you want to know what the weather’s like in Wishaw or what’s on for entertainment in East Kilbride then just tune into 107.5 – 107.9fm, or on www.l107.com. Incidentally, I’m fond of alliteration, as you may have noticed. Just don’t quiz me on nouns or adverbs.
3. A fantastic line-up of presenters. There’s me for starters! From 6am to 10am I’m on airwaves, with my ‘bright, young sound’. I’m not being big headed here; I’m actually quoting the boss, Mr Mark Page. Who’s actually also on air too – yes, we let him (or rather he lets himself) loose on the radio with his notorious, irreverent humour, and incredibly witty banter. He didn’t say that, I’m just trying to bribe him. You can catch Mark on Tuesday nights from 7 till 10pm on Tuesday nights and on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm.
For exclusive interviews with people from across Lanarkshire, tune into David Simmonds’ mid-morning show from 10am to 2pm – we’ve had everyone from politicians, to singers, to representatives from charities in the area. And if you’re a bit competitive why not try your hand at ‘Think of a Link’ or ‘Beat the Intro’ on Steve Gibbs drive time show.
And that’s not all, there’s the nightly Quiet Storm show with romantic tunes, the evening shows, and the weekend DJ’s!
It’s all very exciting I know – and right on your doorstep. Tune in now!
