Wrinkle Relaxant Injections

Botulinum toxin has been used to treat certain medical conditions for nearly 200 years and it was found that a common ‘side effect’ was reduction of wrinkles around the eyes. A lot of research has since been done and, in 2005, treatment with botulinum toxin was the most popular aesthetic procedure in the US.

Injected in small quantities, it reduces nerve signals to facial muscles so they can’t contract as much, the overall effect being smoother skin and less obvious wrinkles, which can last up to six months. It is most often used to reduce ‘crow’s feet’, frown and forehead lines and only minor discomfort is felt during the procedure.

Dermal Fillers

These are derived from a substance naturally occurring in the skin that depletes as we age, and have superseded collagen as the most popular method to reduce deep lines and wrinkles, and plump up and define lips.

The area is first made numb using an injection, then the filler (Restylane® or Hydrafill®) is injected just under the skin. The effect can last up to 9 months and is virtually pain-free.

Facial Peels

CLINETIX offer the Jan Marini® range of Cosmeceutical products, which include glycolic acid peels. These are derived from cane sugar and are used to visibly diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing and softening the skin, increasing hydration and suppleness and making it appear more ‘radiant’. They can also improve oily/acne-prone skin.

Peels come in varying strengths, and we can perform up to a 70% peel (which may only be carried out by medical/dental professionals). We also offer lower strength peels, which suitably trained beauty therapists can administer.

Following application of the peel, you will notice an immediate improvement, and we recommend a course of several peels, along with a personalised, home-care regime for the optimum results. There is no redness or flaking of the skin and there is no significant discomfort or need for anaesthesia.
